Ethos of Empowerment

Ethos of empowerment surrounding young people

  1. Agree project with Principal and leadership team

  2. Discuss suitability of participants

  3. Introductory meeting (possibly briefing) with parents, students and teachers. If not briefing that has to be another time

  4. At this stage we anticipate the students requiring 6/8 sessions, parents 6 sessions and teachers 4/5

  5. Depending on the profile we expect to work with between 15 and 20 participants

  6. These sessions would be facilitated by 2 qualified coaches with experience of working with these groups

  7. We would require a convivial environment to work in (preferably not a classroom) with comfortable seating, a/v equipment and refreshments

Some comments from teachers on the previous workshop

"I liked the variety of activities - talk, discussion, groups, individuals and the links with emotional literacy."

"I learned the need to be aware of my own attitude and feelings and they will automatically affect the children's behaviour."

"I liked lots of information, lots of time to reflect, humorous presentations, things I can apply to me and things I can use in school. The presenter really believes in the message being conveyed."

"The idea that everyone lives their own reality has inspired me to look up Dr Roger Mills research and find out more."

"I learnt that we are all 'good' inside, that our essential being is good and one cannot force a child to behave properly." Other testimonials and case studies available on www.developyourchild.com

Develop Your Child

We use the power of life coaching and related techniques to create personal empowerment in young people, parents and the professionals working with these groups.

We believe our offering is unique because we take a different approach:

  1. We see the potential in our participants - not the problems/issues they are presenting

  2. We connect at a deeper level - to the core of self, inner knowing to create a sustained transformation

  3. We are pioneering coaching whole families both as a group and individually

  4. We support parents to become good role models, teachers to engage with young people and the young people themselves to be of good character and valuable contributors to society

  5. Every programme is designed specifically for the group we are working with and sustainability is incorporated into our programmes

  6. Our vision is to create an ethos of personal empowerment surrounding young people - parents and teachers
