Every Family Matters
"Get a New Life" programme

Changing the fabric of our society from the inside out

Outline

An accredited Develop Your Child Family Coach will organise and manage the whole programme and it will consist of three stages.

Stage 1 - Whole school assemblies

We are aware that whilst SEAL has admirable objectives the quality of resources and delivery varies. The purpose of this phase is to enable children and young people to become more self-aware, accept themselves and realise they are 'OK as they are' and can achieve whatever they would like to. It's also about choices, responsibility and how our emotions affect our behaviour and relationships.

Stage 2 - Hard to reach families

  1. We will identify, with the help of the home/school staff, the 12 most appropriate families in each school.

  2. We will work with the home/school co-ordinator to engage with these families and invite them into our Club.

  3. This part of the programme will commence with a 6-session personal empowerment module lasting 1.5 hours. Following this will be 6 sessions covering specific challenges of the group.

  4. All sessions will have a social flavour and be co-facilitated by the Develop Your Child coach who is experienced in creating personal empowerment through an environment of positivity, possibilities, success and achievement.

  5. We will be communicating regularly through texting a variety of inspirational, Develop Your Child learning and motivational messages.

  6. Participants from both junior and senior schools will be invited to attend the subject specific sessions that will also be supplemented by experts in their respective fields.
